what’s this? the junkyard on a monday? yep… turns out the junkyard is one of our most popular features here on the durnmoose blog, both with us here at moose central and with you, our faithful readers… but the one complaint that we’ve gotten repeatedly is that it has simply grown too long to take in in one setting… so, ever responsive, your friendly neighborhood moose has made an executive decision… from now on, the junkyard, just like the moosing will be a daily feature… this will allow us not only to limit the number of items posted each day, but also to bring you hopefully fresher junk… be sure to chime in and let us know what you think of the new format… and, of course, if you have items that you think we should let everyone know about, be sure to pass those along to us, too… just email ‘em to durnmoose at durnmoose dot com… ok, on with today’s items!

(oh, and for those of you asking what that means for friday, well, you’ll just have to come back then and find out… hopefully we’ll have something figured out by then…)

so y’all may have noticed that we didn’t bother posting any kind of fake news updates or anything like that yesterday to celebrate april fool’s day… after all, let’s face it there’s plenty of other places you can find that… as a amatter of fact, that’s what we’re going to do in today’s moosing… give you a kind of round-up of some of the april fool’s items that we ran across yesterday… most of them, we believe, are fake… some of them we’re just not sure about, and the last one… well, let’s just say we wish it were a fake, but apparently it isn’t…

coputer toilet ok, let’s start things off with a major announcement that came from the good folks at google yesterday… seems they’ve found a way to provide free hi-speed internet service to everyone… via your plumbing system…

here’s a story about a sport that we knew would eventually catch on once enough people gave it a try… dead cat tossing…

how about this report of the mummified remains of a fairy found at the bottom of a garden in derbyshire…

here’s a story that may not be intended for april fool’s, but nonetheless… an angel in a photograph token at the vatican?

from the weekly world news (which treats every day like it’s the first of april) comkes the story of the first mime in space…

sacramento brings us this story of people banned from screaming on a ride called “the screamer”…

from new york comes this story of a man reunited with a prized possession…

and finally, the one we wish weren’t true… it appears a long-time icon is being replaced… or at least updated for the modern age…
